EC Kacho Mohammad Feroz conducts extensive tour of villages across Tai Suru constituency

Kargil, April 24, 2025: Executive Councillor Irrigation & Flood Control, Kacho Mohammad Feroz, accompanied by Councillor Abdul Hadi, Tai Suru Constituency, today conducted an extensive tour of villages across Tai Suru constituency to listen to the public concerns. 

In‑Charge SDM, Divisional Forest Officer, Executive Engineers of PHE, I&FC and PDD Divisions Kargil, Tehsildar, Tai Suru, Assistant Director Fisheries Kargil, Block Development Officer Tai Suru, Executive Engineer SVD,representatives of NHIDCL besides others accompanied the tour. 

At Karpokhar villagers sought improvements in local health services, road maintenance, disaster relief compensation, and boundary wall construction around schools.

At Rgyaling & Purtikchey, residents demanded for restoration of irrigation canals supplying their fields. In Purtikchey, they also requested compensation for land occupied for the purpose of Higher Secondary School.

The EC visited Damsna Trout Fish Farm where he lauded the Fisheries Department and listened to their grievances.

At Youljuk villagers highlighted urgent need for a protective bund around the school campus and shortage of teachers. The EC instructed for fast‑track a tender for approved works within ten days.

At Maita, community members raised Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) issues, electricity outages, and delays in land‑compensation settlements related to NHIDCL’s road‑construction agency.

They also pointed out that recent snow and rain have silts‑ladened the local irrigation khul. The EC directed temporary restoration of the khul before the upcoming sowing season and instructed the PDD to expedite power‑restoration works.

Villagers in Kargee reported damage to homes and fruit trees from heavy snowfall. They also requested compensation and restoration of the roadside khul and local PHC. Similar concerns were raised in Prantee and Choskore. EC Feroz assured that Junior Engineers from PHE and Irrigation would visit each site this week to assess the work needed and engage villagers in the restoration process.

At Choskore Thang EC with others visited the newly established, tourism‑oriented poultry farm in Choskore Thang, entrepreneurs requested perimeter fencing and inclusion under the BDO’s development schemes. EC Feroz praised the initiative as a model for sustainable, tourism‑linked livelihoods and asked Block Development Office to explore available support programs.

Throughout the tour, Executive Councillor emphasized close coordination among departments and assured villagers that all issues would be addressed in a phased manner with timely follow‑up.
