Leh, April 24: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson met Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Shri Kiren Rijiju in New Delhi. The CEC extended a formal invitation to the Minister for the unveiling ceremony of the statue of Kushok Bakula Rinpoche, (Padma Bhushan) to be held on Monday, 19th May 2025 at Bakula Rinpoche Shradhanjali Park, Leh followed by a special conference to mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Mongolia.
The CEC discussed the proposal for establishing a Ladakh Development Finance Corporation and emphasised the need for ensuring equitable access to NMDFC schemes for UT Ladakh.
He urged the Ministry to earmark a separate allocation of NMDFC funds—both loan and grant—through the J&K and Ladakh Finance Corporation (formerly JKSFC) exclusively for Ladakh, until a dedicated finance corporation is established for the region. He also raised concerns regarding the financial mismanagement within JKSFC and called for a thorough review to safeguard Ladakh’s financial interests.
