Kargil, February 23, 2025: Under the auspices of the Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust, Kargil, a grand mourning procession was held to commemorate the funeral of the martyrs of resistance, Syed Hassan Nasrallah and Syed Hashim Safiuddin. Thousands of faithful participated in the procession, paying rich tributes to the martyrs with heartfelt words.
According to details, the procession began at approximately 2 PM after the Zuhr prayers from the Jamia Masjid Kargil, with thousands of people in attendance. Mourners engaged in lamentation (noha khwani) and chest-beating (sine-zani) while chanting slogans in support of Hezbollah, Hamas, and other resistance groups. Thunderous slogans were also raised against global arrogance, particularly targeting the United States and its illegitimate offspring, Israel.
During the procession, symbolic coffins of Syed Hassan Nasrallah and Syed Hashim Safiuddin were carried, while participants held images and placards of the martyrs. These placards bore messages in support of Hezbollah, Hamas, Ansarullah (Houthis), and other resistance movements. The procession passed through Lal Chowk and Khomeini Chowk before concluding at Hussaini Park.
Senior member of the Advisory Council, Hajj Asghar Ali Karbalai, addressed the gathering, highlighting the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Axis of Resistance. He stated:
“Today, with deep sorrow, we bid farewell to the martyrs of resistance, Syed Hassan Nasrallah, and his brave brother, Syed Hashim Safiuddin. We pledge our loyalty to their cause and vow to continue on the path of their revolutionary steadfastness.”
He further emphasized that these martyrs were not merely military commanders or political leaders but living symbols of resilience, perseverance, truth, honor, and dignity. Their voices against oppression and arrogance remained unwavering and could never be silenced.
“The pure blood of these great martyrs will serve as a guiding light for the Muslim Ummah. This blood will ensure our victory and success over the enemies of the Ummah. Their martyrdom is an irreplaceable loss not only for Lebanon but for the entire Muslim Ummah and all freedom-loving people around the world.”
The Chairman of the Supervisory Council, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sheikh Mohammad Mohaqiq, emphasized the importance of the Axis of Resistance in the global struggle for justice and freedom. He highlighted the need for unity and resistance against the atrocities committed by Israel and its allies against the Palestinian people.
On this occasion, the Basij Imam Group performed lamentations in memory of the martyrs, further deepening the atmosphere of grief. The event concluded with prayers for haste reappearance of Imam Mahdi (aj), the prayer of the revolution, and collective chants by the Basij Imam Group.
Media Censorship: Efforts to Suppress the Resistance Narrative
Vice Chairman Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sheikh Hasnain Rizwani expressed gratitude to the district administration, police, media, and other institutions for their cooperation in the successful organization of the procession.
The event was fully covered by PIC, Voice of Ladakh and other media outlets, with live broadcasts also provided. However, imperialist powers targeted this coverage, repeatedly attempting to obstruct it. Ultimately, YouTube removed these videos, underscoring the ongoing global conspiracies to suppress independent media and the narrative of resistance.
