Vol Desk 18/02/2025: The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has officially announced the re-designation of the post of Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor as the Chief Secretary, UT of Ladakh. This change, effective immediately, follows the directive issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, as per the DoP&T’s Notification G.S.R. 7(E) dated January 3, 2025.

The decision was conveyed through Office Memorandum F.No.: A-11/1/2025-AO (GAD), issued by the General Administration Department of Ladakh. As per the directive, the post has been re-designated without any change in duties and responsibilities. This administrative restructuring aims to streamline governance and enhance the efficiency of the UT’s administration.

Accordingly, all future communications that were previously addressed to the “Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, UT of Ladakh” shall now be addressed to the “Chief Secretary, UT of Ladakh.” Additionally, all prior Orders, Notifications, and Office Memorandam referring to the “Advisor to Lt. Governor” shall now be interpreted as referring to the “Chief Secretary, UT of Ladakh.”
