Ladakh Students in Hyderabad Meet MP to Address Key Challenges
Hyderabad, January 2, 2025 – A group of Ladakhi students representing various universities in Hyderabad met with the Member of Parliament (MP) today to present a memorandum highlighting their grievances and challenges.
The delegation raised critical issues, including delays in fellowship disbursement and the absence of adequate financial assistance for scholars availing the NON-NET fellowship. Additionally, concerns over the rising unemployment rates among the youth in Ladakh were emphasized.
The students also stressed the importance of establishing institutional collaborations. They proposed signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between leading central universities, such as Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) and the University of Hyderabad, with the University of Ladakh. Such partnerships, they argued, would help students in Ladakh access advanced academic resources and opportunities.
