Leh, 10 January, 2025: A delegation led by ex-Sarpanch of Domkhar, Subedar Major Tsering Namgyal (Retd), called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Brigadier (Dr) B. D. Mishra (Retd) at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Secretary, PHE,  Michael D’Souza, IAS and Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Leh, Shabir Hussain, JKAS were present during the meeting.

The delegates apprised the HLG of issues concerning the telecommunication connectivity in Domkhar Village and drinking water under Jal Jeevan Mission in Domkhar Dho. They highlighted that despite the completion of the erection of mobile towers at three proposed sites, network operations are yet to commence.

In response, the HLG sought a detailed report from the Advisor, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS, regarding the number of towers sanctioned, number of towers erected, number of towers transmitting signal and number of towers facing transmission issues, etc. The HLG assured the delegates that the matter would be attended to promptly.

Additionally, the delegation requested the establishment of an ice hockey rink in Domkhar and the promotion of adventure tourism activities in the region.

The HLG asked them to submit formal written applications to the concerned Secretaries so that these issues could be looked into.
