CEC Kargil, Dr Jaffer Akhoon conducts surprise inspection of CHC Sankoo, inspects health facilities
Kargil, January 29, 2025: Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today conducted a surprise visit to CHC Sankoo and inspected health facilities being provided to patients.
He also visited Aga Syed Hyder Razvi Memorial Higher Secondary School Sankoo and girls’ coaching centre to inspect hostel facilities provided to students.
The CEC was accompanied by Councilor, Aga Syed Ahmed, Councillor, Ghulam Haider, Chief Medical Officer Kargil, Exen SVD Sankoo, Block Medical Officer Sankoo, Deputy CEO besides other concerned officers.

Dr Akhoon inspected all wards of CHC Sankoo and interacted with patients to inquire about their health and the quality of care they receive in the hospital. He emphasised the timely duty of doctors and staff, instructing the medical team to maintain high standard of care.
CEC Kargil directed CMO Kargil and BMO Sankoo to prepare DPRs for the construction of additional accommodation/staff quarters.
The CEC also inspected the functioning of the X-ray machine and found that the manual machine is working while the digital machine has some technical fault. Dr Akhoon was informed by CMO Kargil that the technical glitch will be solved at the earliest and also the technicians will address the issue.
Regarding the deployment of paediatrics doctors, CEC Kargil assured that within in coming days, the shortage will be resolved on priority.
CEC Kargil directed BMO Kargil to start OPD sharp at 9: 30 am adding that a circular has already been issued by the UT Administration which should be followed in letter and spirit.
The CEC also assured that he is trying his best to get a CT machine not only for CHC Sankoo but for all the other CHCs of the district. He also said talks are underway with different stakeholders adding that he is optimistic about getting a CT scan machine at the earliest.
CEC Kargil also directed In-Charge Officer Police Post Sankoo to issue a birth and character certificate from the Police Post Sankoo so that the people would not suffer anymore.
Later, CEC Kargil also visited Aga Syed Hyder Razvi Memorial Higher Secondary School Sankoo and girls’ coaching centre to inspect the functioning of hostels.
The CEC asked students to take maximum benefits of the hostel facilities to get better results in the coming board exams. He also advised them to inform their fellow students to come forward and take the benefits of hostel facilities.
