Truck Driver Missing on Journey from Leh to Manali, Family Seeks Public Help

VoL Desk, December 13: A truck traveling from Leh to Manali has gone missing, according to the brother of the truck driver, who reached out to the Voice of Ladakh correspondent for assistance and to raise awareness.

The brother of the missing driver contacted Voice of Ladakh by phone, appealing for help and requesting that the news be broadcasted on the channel. He explained that the truck, bearing the registration number HP 78-2680, departed from Leh for Himachal Pradesh on December 6. The last contact the family had with the driver was via phone when he was in the village of Sapung.

Since then, there has been no communication, and the driver has not returned home. The brother mentioned that the distance from Spang to their home in Kangra is typically a day’s journey, yet a week has passed without any trace of the driver. Despite reaching out to both Ladakh and Himachal police, no information has been found. The missing driver, identified as Ashok Kumar, is from the Kangra area in Himachal Pradesh. Anyone with information about Ashok Kumar or the vehicle with the registration number HP 78-2680 is urged to contact his brother at 8580536996.
