Three-day Refresher Training on Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi
The Social & Tribal Welfare Department, UT Ladakh, in collaboration with the 17000 ft Foundation, inaugurated a three-day Refresher Training on Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi. The training is being held from December 26-28, 2024, at the DC Conference Hall in Leh. Hon’ble Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchok, served as the Chief Guest during the event.
The program was attended by Director of Social and Tribal Welfare, Tashi Dolma JKAS, District Programme Officer ICDS, AG Zargar JKAS, Director of 17000 ft, Sonam Dawa, CDPOs, Supervisors and Anganwadi workers.

Director, Social and Tribal Welfare, Tashi Dolma, spoke on the occasion and emphasized the importance of this training for the Anganwadi workers. She acknowledged that the Anganwadi workers are very capable in the “Poshan” aspect but still need to enhance their knowledge in the “Padhai” component of the scheme. Furthermore, she invited expertise from 17000 ft to train the workers in the “Padhai” section and encouraged CDPOs to train the workers in the “Poshan” section.
She added that this training is compulsory for all Anganwadi workers. She underscored the importance of the training and stated that everyone must work collectively to reach out to more and more people with the schemes and their benefits.
Director 17000 ft, Sonam Dawa, appreciated the opportunity to collaborate with the Director of Social and Tribal Welfare and emphasized that their training on capacity building would yield positive learning outcomes. He also highlighted that his team would provide effective training, recognizing that the 0-6 age group is crucial.
Hon’ble Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchok, spoke about the work of 17000 ft and its significant contribution to the education sector in Ladakh. He emphasized the importance of learning from such trainings, as they will ultimately benefit the children. He also assured that he would work towards improving their honorariums.
District Programme Officer, AG Zargar, also emphasized the importance of the training and encouraged the workers to learn diligently, as they would be responsible for training other Anganwadi workers. He instructed the workers to ask questions and be more proactive.
During the inaugural program, cell phones were also distributed to Anganwadi workers by Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchok, to improve the Poshan Tracker. It was mentioned that 50% of the cell phones are being distributed this year and the remaining 50% will be distributed next year. The training program on Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi will take place from December 26 to 28.
