CEC Convened A Review Meeting to Discuss Security Measures at monasteries
Leh, December 14: In a bid to address the growing security concerns in Leh, especially related to incidents at local monasteries, the Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Adv. Tashi Gyalson, convened a meeting today.
Present at the meeting were Hon’ble Deputy Chairman Tsering Angchuk, SSP Leh Shruti Arora; Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Mohd; Dy SP Traffic Sonam Dorje; Nominated Councillor Ven Konchok Tsepel, LGA President Gyen Tsering Angdu, Vice President Dorjey Stanzin, Joint Secretary Stanzin Nima, LBA Vice President Regzin Dorjey, Dy. Secretary Culture Stanzin Paljor; DIO NIC Leh Tashi Tundup.DIO, NIC Tashi Tundup presented a proposal for a high-resolution CCTV surveillance system.
SSP Shruti Arora informed that the police were exploring every angle to address these incidents, and assured to extend all possible assistance to enhance security measures and to provide training to the security marshals engaged by council for the monasteries.

CEC Leh stated that the engagement of private security will be arranged as soon as the names and profiles are submitted by the concerned monasteries. Additionally, the installation of High Definition CCTV will be done soon.
The meeting concluded with a consensus, to implementing these upgrades, aiming to significantly enhance the safety and security of local religious sites while preserving the region’s cultural heritage.
