Armed Forces Flag Day Observed in Leh
Leh,December 7, 2024: Armed Forces Flag Day was observed in Leh today on December 7, in consonance with the countrywide spirit. A concerted drive to seek voluntary contributions from government officials, local army units, local commercial unions, and others was spearheaded by the Rajya/Zila Sainik Board, Ex-service member League Leh, and young NCC Cadets from 1 Ladakh NCC Battalion.The team commenced the drive from Commissioner/Secretary Ms. Padma Angmo, IIS, and Dr. Laltinkhuma Franklin, IAS, Secretary to Hon’ble LG, and proceeded to other officials of the Union Territory of Ladakh.The Armed Forces Flag Day is observed every year on December 7 throughout the country. The day is observed as an annual event to honor the martyrs of defense forces and remind the general public to contribute to the welfare of affected families by donations.On this significant day of ‘Flag Day’, concerted efforts are made all over the country to raise funds for the welfare of jawans and families of soldiers killed or disabled during their duties by distributing token flags in return for voluntary contributions/donations
