Various delegations call on Lt Governor BD Mishra
Leh, Oct 23, 2024: Principal of Siddhartha High School, Stok, Dechen Wangmo called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, DR L Franklin, IAS and Under Secretary, School Education, Ms Sumera Shafi, JKAS, were present in the meeting.
Ms Wangmo informed the HLG that the School is a charitable institution supported by international non-profit organisations. She requested the HLG’s assistance in developing a children’s park/play area for KG students.
Ms Sumera informed the HLG that there is no provision to provide financial assistance to private institutions.

The HLG called concerned officials of HDFC Bank and J&K Bank to seek funds for establishing a play area for the School under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
A delegation from Turtuk led by its Nambardar, Shri Abdul Majid, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the LG Secretariat. Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Dr L Franklin, IAS and officials from PDD Ladakh were present in the meeting.
Shri Majid raised several issues, including the need to start work on the Turtuk-Hanu Road; the need to provide electricity to adjoining areas from Tabbay Nallah; the need for revenue village for five villages near Tabbay Nallah; the need for mobile tower and sub-division status for Turtuk, etc.
The HLG assured that necessary instructions would be passed to concerned Administrative Secretaries to look into the matter and take necessary steps.
General Secretary, BJP Singge Lalok, Shri Tashi Dorjay called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the LG Secretariat. Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Dr L Franklin, IAS, was present in the meeting.
Shri Dorjay raised several issues, viz. the need to install CCTV and post armed guard at the Lingshed monastery; the need to provide washroom, drinking and electricity facilities at Nyeraks market, etc.
The HLG asked Shri Dorjay to meet DGP Ladakh Police, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IPS, and talk about the issue with him so that necessary steps can be taken in this regard.
