Officials from NHPC Ltd & Project Vijayak/ Project Himank call on LG Mishra
Leh, Oct 10, 2024: The Head of Project, Chutak Power Station, Shri Jitendra Kumar from NHPC Ltd, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Dr L Franklin, IAS and Secretary, PWD, Shri Michael D’Souza, IAS, were present in the meeting.
Shri Jitendra briefed the HLG about various initiatives taken by NHPC Ltd to benefit the people of Chutak, including providing water supply and developing children park/football ground for the community, etc. He also informed the HLG that NHPC Ltd can assist the villagers in repairing the damaged irrigation khuls.
The HLG inquired about the grievances of the residents of Chutak regarding the land acquired by NHPC Ltd for the hydro project and the steps taken to address the issues of the village. He asked Shri Jitendra to explore the option of developing Chutak as a model village under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. He also asked Shri Jitendra to meet the Advisor to the HLG to discuss other initiatives that could be taken in the nearby villages of the Chutak Power Project.
Col Rishab Jain from Project Vijayak and Col Tarun Kalai from Project Himank called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the LG Secretariat. Advisor to the HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; DGP Ladakh, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IPS; Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Dr L Franklin, IAS and Secretary, PWD, Shri Michael D’Souza, IAS, were present in the meeting.
Col Rishab apprised the HLG about various infrastructure projects in UT Ladakh to be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Raksha Mantri, Shri Rajnath Singh on October 12, 2024.
The HLG discussed the bridge at Shayok with Col Rishab of Project Vijayak and asked DGP Ladakh, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IPS, to monitor the crossing of overloaded vehicles over the bridge to avoid its snapping and consequently casualty to the public.
