Kargil, September 15, 2024: Baqirya Health Care and Research Center, the health wing of IKMT Kargil launched its ongoing Program for women’s welfare known as “Sister’s program on Menstrual health and hygiene “in Leh District in collaboration with Alamdar Health Services, a unit of Anjumane Imamia Leh on 14th September 2024.

This unique program launched in Kargil by Baqirya as a pilot project last year got a massive positive response from female section and keeping in view the success of the program, executive body Baqirya intended to move a step forward by taking this initiative to Leh district with Anjumane Imamia and Alamdar Health Services Leh who agreed to go ahead.

The inaugural ceremony in Leh District was chaired by the Executive Councilor for minority affairs LAHDC Leh Sh. Ghulam Mehdi in presence of President Anjumane Imamia Leh Mr Ashraf Ali Barcha, president Baqirya Dr Ahmad Ali, President Alamdhar Health Mr Imtiyaz, CMO Leh, Medical Superintendent SNM Hospital Leh, VP Baqirya Dr Fatima Nasreen, senior member Baqirya Dr Zarina, CO Baqirya Haji Habib, president women’s wing Anjumane Imamia Leh, VP women’s wing Moinul Islam, Vice President women wing Christian community, Dr Padma Gynecologist SNM Leh , Students from various higher secondary schools of Leh, and females from various sections of the society.

Speaking on the occasion the chief guest lauded the activities carried out by Baqirya and he particularly mentioned and appraised the contributions of Baqirya in Leh district during Covid 19 pandemic and the mission hepatitis B free Kargil.

The chief guest assured Baqirya and Alamdar health for all possible help and support whatever and whenever needed and he congratulated both the charitable organisations for cooperating in helping the needy.

President Anjumane Imamia congratulated and thanked the Baqirya for launching this program in Leh district and assured for full cooperation in making these events a success.

CMO Leh Dr Dolma Choskit in her speech congratulated the team of Baqirya and Alamdar for making such an event happen in  Leh for the first time centered on women’s health and she assured for full support whenever needed.

President Baqirya delivering his speech briefed the audience about the various activities ongoing and in pipeline. He assured that Baqirya shall make all possible help and support to Alamdar Health services in making such events  a success.

After the inaugural session Gynecologist and VP Baqirya Dr Nasreen and Dr Padma, Gynecologist took the charge and delivered lecture on menstrual health, demonstrated the how to use the menstrual cups. The female volunteers of Baqirya distributed hundreds of Menstrual Cups among the participants.
