Hon’ble Justice Bhat convenes meeting on Reservation Policy for ALC

Leh, Aug 8, 2024: Hon’ble Chairman, Reservation Commission for Actual Line of Control (ALC), Ladakh, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat convened a key meeting with Hon’ble Chairman/CEC Adv. Tashi Gyalson in the Conference Hall of the Council Secretariat today.

Hon’ble Justice Bansi Lal Bhat accompanied by Additional Secretary, Reservation Committee for ALC, Shri Tsering Motup briefed H’CEC and the attendees on the status and progress made by the committee in formulating a reservation policy for residents living adjacent to the Actual Line of Control.

Emphasizing inclusive development, Justice Bhat highlighted that the committee’s aim to alleviate the hardships faced by the residents in border areas. He stated that the primary objective of the meeting was to inform stakeholders about the committee’s work and to gather suggestions and objections from all concerned parties.

Justice Bhat stressed the necessity of establishing criteria to ensure that reservations are provided to the intended beneficiaries while excluding those who are not eligible.

During the meeting, Hon’ble CEC Gyalson, Hon’ble Executive Councillors and Hon’ble Councillors presented their submissions and feedbacks to Justice Bhat.

The meeting was attended by Hon’ble Dy. Chairman Tsering Angchuk; Hon’ble Executive Councillor for RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Hon’ble Executive Councillor, Minority, Ghulam Mehdi and Councillors from border areas including Hon’ble Councillor, Nyoma, Ishey Spalzang; Hon’ble Councillor, Korzok, Karma Namdak; Hon’ble Councillor, Chushul, Konchok Stanzin; Hon’ble Councillor, Kungyam, Thinles Nurboo; Hon’ble Councillor, Panamik, Tsering Sangdup; Hon’ble Councillor, Skurbuchan, Lhundup Dorjey and other concerned officials.
