His Holiness Chamgon Kenting 12th Tai Situpa Rinpoche’s Visits Ladakh
Leh, August 14: His Holiness Chamgon Kenting 12th Tai Situpa Rinpoche, a distinguished leader in the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, has arrived in Ladakh.
The esteemed Rinpoche was warmly received at Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport by Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh Tashi Gyalson alongside Urgyen Rinpoche, Stakna Rinpoche, Bakula Rangdol Nyima Rinpoche and Khenpo Konchok Rangdol alongside a host of other dignitaries, including Geshe Thupten Damchos; President, Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) Tsering Dorjey Lakrook; President Ladakh Gompa Association (LGA) Ven. Tsering Wangdus; President Anjuman Imamia Leh Ashraf Ali Barcha; President of Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Dr. Abdul Qayum; LBA Women’s Wing President, Kunzes Dolma; Vice President of LBA Rigzin Dorjey; LBA Youth Wing President, Jigmet Raftan; Former MLA Tsering Samphel; Former MLA Skalzang Angdus as well as leaders of Hindu and Christian organizations, President of the Lamdon Society; Phuntsog Angchuk, the Principal and staff of Lamdon School, and various Nambardars from Leh.
His Holiness Chamgon Kenting 12th Tai Situpa Rinpoche, the esteemed head of Palpung Sherabling Monastery in Baijnath, Himachal Pradesh, will graciously remain in Ladakh from August 14 to August 23, 2024.This visit marks His Holiness’s second visit to the region, following his first in 1970, and is a momentous occasion for both the Buddhist community and the wider populace of Ladakh.
