Health camps to offer healthcare services, identify Tuberculosis cases held at Leh

Leh, August 14: On the direction of Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, Tashi Gyalson, who also serves as the Executive Councillor for Health, the BMO office of Leh, in partnership with C-19 projects, has successfully conducted a series of health camps. These camps aimed to offer comprehensive healthcare services to local communities and actively identify Tuberculosis cases.

Commencing on July 8, the health camps were held in Stakna, Matho, Chuchot, Thiksey, and several other villages within the Kharu Sub-Division, achieving significant success.

H’CEC Gyalson expressed his appreciation for the dedication of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and BMO Leh, Tsering Angchuk, and his team, acknowledging their crucial role in the success of these health camps. The initiative saw impressive participation and turnout from the local communities.

In addition to these specialized health camps, BMO Leh continues to conduct regular health services at every village and subcentre within the block. The most recent regular camps were held in Sumdha, Kaya, and Gya villages.

Each health camp included a team of specialists, including a Gynaecologist, Dentist, and Eye Specialist, providing essential medical services to the community.

In today’s camp report ,the X-Ray Screening Camp at S/C Choglamsar was successfully completed, with 80 screenings and X-rays conducted. Out of these,2 cases were symptomatic, 4 were AI suggestive, and 5 were eligible for sputum testing. All 5 sputum samples tested on site in the CBNAAT Van returned negative, and there are no pending samples in today’s camp report.
