Kargil, July 11, 2024: A delegation of Merchant Association Kargil called on Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, in presence of Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse and SSP Kargil, Shree Ram R.

The delegation informed the CEC Kargil about the confiscation and destruction of goods by the inspection team. SSP Kargil said that the procedure followed by the inspection team was conducted under the legal procedure, the goods which have been confiscated and destroyed by the team were banned tobacco products, and the video footage has also been taken by the team for the record.

DC Kargil assured that an awareness campaign will be organized in future to impart awareness for the Merchant Association about the legal procedure and established law.

CEC Kargil requested the Merchant Association to sincerely stop the illegal sale of tobacco products within the surroundings of the school. He sought support of the association to curb the threatening tobacco use and other illegal substances among the youth.
