Kargil, July 19, 2024: Executive Councilor, ZDA, RDD, Cooperative and Information, LAHDC, Kargil, Er. Phunchok Tashi in presence of  Agriculture Officer, Tsering Norboo and Block Development Officer Karsha, Tsewang Rigzin on Thursday inaugurated new public library at Tungri Thang in Karsha Block.

The library, constructed and funded by the Rural Development Department, aims to support local residents of Tungri with educational resources, especially books for competitive exams. It’s a significant step towards promoting literacy and learning within the community.

EC Tashi commended the initiative, highlighting its role in enhancing education and knowledge sharing in Tungri Thang. The library’s collection includes a variety of books curated to meet the educational needs of residents.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by community members, and students of Tungri, Tahan and Shamuling. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the library’s resources and discuss future plans for its expansion.
