Kargil, July 02: Executive Councilor RDD, ZDA and Information Er. Punchok Tashi chaired a review meeting to discuss the issues pertaining to the construction of NH-301 in Phase-7 and 8 Zanskar Sub Division at his office Chamber.

The meeting was attended by Councilor Karsha Stanzing Jigmat; SDM Zanskar, Romil Singh (IAS); General Manager NHIDCL; besides other concerned officers of NHIDCL were present during the meeting.

The meeting discussed in detail bout the various issues including redesigning of Padum market area, four lane widening including divider, street lights, re-adjustment of the illegally encroached areas, and other related issues.

The concerned officer from NHIDCL informed the EC that some land owners have encroached the areas which have been marked and have also constructed structures for which the payments have been already done by the NHIDCL.

The EC directed the SDM Zanskar to conduct a joint survey by Revenue Department, NHIDCL, and the concerned agency right from Chibra to Padum so that actual ROW could be ensured.

The EC also directed to expedite the road construction works in view of short working season. He also directed to make sure the quality of work should not compromised at any cost.

The EC was informed that the leftover land compensation in 7th and 8th phase is under active consideration for notification under 3A and shall be issued in a week.

The EC was also informed that team of NHIDCL has requested LAHDC Administration to intervene for ROW issue.

The EC was also informed that UT Administration has appointed arbitrator for resolving all disputes of general public pertaining to the issues compensation.
