VoL Desk, July 06: In view of the surge in incidences of feral dog’s bites in the district posing grave danger to public safety and health, the District Magistrate Kargil has issued necessary instructions for proper management and disposition of leftover foods.

It is observed that the improper management, irresponsible disposing of leftover food has been one of the reason for rise in such incidences.

In this regard the District Magistrate has ordered all the hotels, homestays, guest houses, restaurants, and defense establishments in Kargil District to strictly refrain from throwing leftover foods on the roads and other places and ensure proper disposal as per provisions governing subject.

The DC has further instructed the Municipal Committee Kargil, Tourism Department and Rural Development, Kargil to take necessary steps for mass awareness among all concerned stakeholders regarding above directions as well as management of leftover food from above entities.

The SSP Kargil, SDMS, EO MC Kargil and BDOS shall ensure strict implementation of above
directions and act against violators as per provisions of law.
