CEC Kargil reviews Muharram arrangements with medical staff
Kargil, July 15: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements related to the Muharram.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer (CMO); Deputy CMO; Medical Superintendent (MS); DTO; and Resident Medical Officer (RMO).
During the meeting, the CEC emphasized the importance of robust medical preparedness during the Muharram procession of 9th and 10th. He issued several directions to ensure effective emergency response and healthcare facilities.

The CEC directed CMO Kargil to deploy at least 10 vehicles from garages to facilitate medical operations. Dr Jaffer also instructed the CMO to issue the roster of doctors and paramedics to ensure adequate staffing during the period.
Recognizing the need for decentralized oversight, the CEC mandated the CMO to conduct thorough reviews at Block Medical Officer (BMO) level to strengthen local medical preparedness.
Regarding logistical support, the CEC instructed the CMO to arrange water facilities using medical funds and designate standby emergency vehicles at strategic locations including Inqilab Manzil, Power Control Room, Fruit Mandi, and near Shaheen Stationery.
Furthermore, the CEC asked the CMO to furnish detailed information regarding volunteer vehicles and government-owned vehicles to his office for coordination purposes.
The CEC stressed the importance of a coordinated and proactive approach to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and observers during Muharram.
He expressed confidence in the collective efforts of the medical team and local administration to successfully manage the processions.
