Ashura Processions by JUIA Kargil Honor Imam Hussain
VoL Desk, July 18: Under the banner of Jamiat Ulema Isna Ashriya Kargil, Muharram processions were held in various villages, with participants chanting nohas, beating their chests, and self-flagellating in memory of Imam Hussain Ibn Ali, who was martyred in Karbala in 63 Hijri. The procession began at the Bus Stand and concluded at the Inqilab Manzil premises in Kargil.
Mourners carried the Zuljanah (the horse of Karbala), taboot (coffin), rZampan, and the Jhoola (swing) of Hazrat Ali Asgar. They chanted nohas in Urdu, Balti, and Purgi languages, paying rich tribute to Imam Hussain and his companions.
The Health Department and Al-Reza Health Care & Research Foundation provided medical aid to those self-flagellating and to other mourners. Volunteer organizations, business outlets, and civil societies, including the Ladakh Police, arranged alms such as juice, water, milk, and lunch for the mourners along the procession route.

The Municipal Committee Kargil had made arrangements for cleanliness and hygiene on the procession route.
