Animal Husbandry Dept. organizes awareness camp at Rangdum Village
Kargil, July 04: To boost livelihood and economy of livestock breeders in far-flung areas of Kargil district, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Kargil, Dr. Gulzar Hussain, organized a one-day farmer’s awareness, animal treatment and aid/assistance camp for yak and cattle breeders of Rangdum village.
The camp was conducted by a dedicated team of veterinarians and para-veterinarians led by Dr. Siraj U Din, I/c BVO Sankoo/Taisuru.
The awareness camp saw the participation of approximately 60 farmers at Rangdum. The camp was organized with the objective to enhance farmers’ awareness and informed utilization of Central Sponsored Schemes, such as National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) and Kisan Credit Card (KCC).

Comprehensive sessions on best practices in livestock management and clean milk production were also made.
To support the farmers Director ASH & F has issued 50 Quintals of cattle feed ,70 kilograms of mineral mixtures and four set of Looms free of cost which was promised during his recent visit to Kargil District which was latter on distributed among the farmers and on-the-spot identification and over five beneficiaries was carried out to facilitate access to KCC loans, with further formalities to be completed subsequently.
The I/c BVO Sankoo /VAS Taisuru also provided treatment to two ailing bovine animals brought to the camp by farmers of the area.
Nambardar and the progressive farmers present at the camp expressed profound gratitude to the Animal Husbandry Department for organizing such programs in remote area of Rangdum.
They expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to support the welfare and development of farmers in the region.
The Animal Husbandry Department remains committed to enhancing the agricultural practices and economic well-being of the farmers in Kargil district through continuous education, assistance, and support.
