Congress Drass demands ex-gratia relief to recent Zojila accident victims
VoL Desk, June 22: The Block Congress Committee, Drass held a press conference today to address the June 16 road incident at Pani Matha on Zojila Pass, which resulted in the death of three family members, with only one surviving.
During the press conference, ex-Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, Agha Syed Mohammad Shah, expressed resentment towards the LAHDC, Kargil, for their inaction following the incident. He criticized the council administration for not offering sympathy or releasing ex-gratia relief to the victims’ family, nor visiting them to check on their condition.
Advocate Mustafa Haji while speaking to media during press conference noted that although the council administration tweeted about the incident, but no one reached out to the victims’ family.

“We have repeatedly highlighted the unique issues and problems faced by the Drass region, but our voices are continuously suppressed,” he said. “We urge the council administration and DC Kargil to release ex gratia relief to the victims and their family, who are in great need and come from a poor background.”
