Kargil, June 12: All Kargil (Ladakh) Students’ Association Delhi (AKSAD) called upon the Hon’ble Member of Parliament Haji Haneefa Jan & CEC LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Jaffar Akhoon at Ladakh Bhawan, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The delegation representing the collective voice of students extended sincere congratulations to Haji Haneefa Jan for winning the Ladakh Lok Sabha seat.

The delegation convened to deliberate on a range of student-related issues, with the Honorable MP & CEC Kargil offering insights and addressing concerns across multiple dimensions. The discussed issues were, allocation of separate seats for ST students at Jamia Millia Islamia Delhi which was undermined when university authorities amalgamated STs with OBCs, resulting in a diminished representation of ST students in the university at large.

Separate boys’ and girls’ hostel for students of Kargil, introduction of Fine Arts and Commerce at Higher Secondary Schools, introduction of Law & Management department at University of Ladakh (UoL) & affiliated colleges, stop Outsourcing and early recruitment of Jobs, Public Service Commission (PSC) for Ladakh.

Issues facing by the students in various Scholarship Schemes like, PM-USPY (formerly PMSSS) and NSP scholarship and to declare the reservation list result of SSC jobs as early as possible.

During the discussion both the MP and CEC, Kargil provided assurance to the executive members of AKSAD that they would diligently work to resolve these issues at the earliest opportunity.
