Acting CEC Kacho Mohd Feroz chairs meeting on mining issues
Kargil, June 14: Acting Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil, Kacho Mohd Feroz today chaired a meeting to address the mining-related issues of Kargil district.
The meeting was attended by Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil, for town constituency; Councilor Bhimbhat; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Kargil; Deputy Director Mining and Geology UT Ladakh; District Mineral Officer Kargil; Executive Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control Kargil; President Contractor Association; President Crusher Association Kargil, and other concerned stakeholders.
The meeting discussed various mining-related concerns. Key topics included the current mining plan, SRO 203, conditional NOCs, and other issues. The consultant for mining provided detailed insights into various aspects related to mining operations.

During the discussions, the mining representatives highlighted that the auction process is the most effective method for allocating mining blocks.
The acting CEC acknowledged the concerns raised and directed the relevant authorities to address the minor issues faced by contractors and the general public.
Furthermore, the acting CEC assured to schedule another meeting of the Executive Councillor to deliberate on these matters after the return of the Chairman CEC, LAHDC Kargil.
The Acting CEC emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts and timely resolution of issues to ensure the sustainable development of the mining sector in the region.
