VoL Desk, May 14: Two teachers died in a car accident near Khardung La on Sunday when they were going to Leh for election training. DC/Returning Officer Santosh Sukhadava announce a compensation of 15 lakh for each family.

The victims named as Mohd Eliyas was the teacher Middle School, Thang and Mohd Ibrahim, teacher of Primary School Tyakshi, Farol both victims hail from Nubra Subdivision and both were going to Leh, for an election duty under the second and third phase of training.

In this regard the District Commissioner, Leh who is also a Returning Officer of 01 Ladakh Constituency expressed grief and sorrow over such an unfortunate accident of the two teachers.

He has announced a compensation of rupees 15 Lakh each for the deceased family as per the Election commission of India’s notification and also announce rupees 5 lakh by the administration under the red cross fund.

In this regard the Lecturer Forum payed their condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for patients in such situation.
