Kargil, May 13: To foster sportsmanship and camaraderie between the Indian Army and the people of Suru Valley, Khumbathang Premier League 2024 cricket tournament was organised by Forever in Operations Division. Six Army & Four civil youth teams competed intensely for the ultimate prize. The tournament, played with passion and fervor amidst serene surroundings, culminated with Ladakh University lifting the title of Champions of KPL 2024.

The final of the tournament was played between University of Ladakh (UoL), Kargil Campus team and GOC XI. University team emerged victorious by a margin of 43 runs. The final match ceremony was graced by Madam Kaneez Fatima, Rector, Kargil Campus, University of Ladakh (UoL) and Major General Sachin Malik, YSM, VSM, GOC 8 Mtn Div, alongside officers from military station Khumbathang and faculty members of UoL.

Major General Sachin Malik extended his congratulations and appreciation to the UoL team for their outstanding performance throughout the tournament. Madam Kaneez Fatima, in her congratulatory remarks, commended the remarkable display of sportsmanship exhibited by all the players.
It is worth noting that under the leadership of Mr. Mohd Jawad (PTI), the University team remained unbeaten in the tournament & won all Six matches, including the Grand finale.
