Leh, May 03: The Secretary of Tourism and Culture Department, UT Ladakh Vikram Singh Malik hold a meeting to review the Structure and Functioning of the Tourism Department and the Status of Execution of Projects/Works under the State Sector, SDP, and other schemes, at the Civil Secretariat, Leh.

At the onset of the meeting, a comprehensive presentation was presented by the concerned officials on the progress of various projects under the Special Development Project (SDP) and State Sector and other schemes of the department. 

Deliberations and discussions were held on the execution of various projects of Tourism Authorities undertaken by the Central Public Work Department.

Secretary Vikram Singh Malik reviewed different ongoing and completed projects of the Tourism Department. He directed the concerned officials to execute and expedite the schemes. He also assessed the works and functions of the department. 

Meanwhile, Secretary of Tourism chaired another meeting on the expenses made by the department on the projects/initiatives under SDP and State Sector. Concerned official from the department presented a detailed presentation on the last financial year expenditure of Special Development Project (SDP).

Detailed deliberations and discussions were held on the Golden Jubileeof tourism in Ladakh, homestay/hotel, arrival of foreign and domestic tourist month wise distribution. 

The Secretary highlighted the importance of hospitality to the tourists and development of infrastructure. He further directed the concerned officials to develop all the infrastructure projects and initiatives on stipulated time.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Tourism Department, Ladakh; the Chief Engineer of CPWD, Ladakh; the Chief Executive Officer, Leh of Tourism Authority; the Principal of Food Craft Institute, Leh; the Officer on Special Duty to the Secretary, Tourism; the Executive Engineer of CPWD, Leh; the Executive Engineer of CPWD, Kargil; the Executive Engineer of Leh, Tourism Authority; the Assistant Director of the Tourism Department, Leh; the Assistant Director (Planning) of the Tourism & Culture Department, Ladakh; while the Chief Executive Officer, Kargil, Tourism Authority; the Executive Engineer of CPWD, Kargil; the Executive Engineer of Kargil, Tourism Authority; the Executive Engineer of Zanskar Tourism Authority; the Assistant Director of the Tourism Department, Kargil; Tourist Officer, Zanskar joined the meeting virtually.
