Leh, May 7: Nodal Officer Expenditure, Zulfiqar Ali convened the Election Expenditure Monitoring (EEM) meeting at the Video Conference Hall, DC Office on May 7.

The main objective of the meeting was to conduct a free, fair, and transparent election by monitoring misuse of money and muscle power, legal expenditure within the permissible limit, maintaining a truthful account and a level playing field for all stakeholders.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the two categories of election expenditure, legal provisions, and particulars of account of election expenses. It was informed that the rates for items to be used during the election will be determined following consultation with the political parties.

The members of the Expenditure Monitoring team were informed to maintain a register for day-to-day accounts which would be meant for the entire election expenses.

The meeting was attended by the Assistant Expenditure Observer (AEO), the Accounting Team and members of the Expenditure Monitoring Team.
