Assembly Election in J&K by 30 Sep, Statehood next : Amit Shah
New DELHI, May 26: Union Home Minister Amit Shah after completion of successful Lok Sabha elections in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has said that the Assembly Elections in the region will be held before September 30 as per Supreme Court orders.
He further added that once the Assembly Elections are over, the Government will start the process of restoring statehood to the Union Territory.
The erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir was reorganised into two Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh on August 05, 2019. Since than the people of both the regions are demanding for restoration of Statehood and democratic rights.
