Leh Apex Body to resume hunger strike, announce march toward Skyangchu Thang
VoL Desk, April 13: The Leh Apex Body, in a recent press conference, has announced their decision to resume hunger strike in order to press for political demands of Ladakh. Encouraging widespread participation, they urged villagers to join the hunger strike, even amidst the ongoing farming season, emphasizing the importance of collective action.
Sonam Wangchuk emphasized the significance of their upcoming march towards Skyangchu Thang (Chang Thang) while highlighting the imminent threat to land there and the need to raise awareness among people outside Ladakh.
Responding to queries, Tsering Dorjay Lakrouk, a member of the Leh Apex Body, clarified that neither the Leh Apex Body nor the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) have immediate plans to directly engage in parliamentary elections. However, recognizing the necessity for representatives who can effectively address Ladakh’s crucial issues, they remain open to considering such a course of action.
