Indian Army conducts workshop on first aid & CPR at GDC Drass
Kargil, April 24: Government Degree College Drass under the leadership of its principal Dr Amjad Ali Abbasi today organized a one-day workshop on First Aid and CPR.
The students of High Altitude Trekking Guide Course and other students of the 2nd Semester were trained in First Aid and CPR. The workshop was coordinated by Shahid Khan, Trainer for the High Altitude Trekking Guide Course by LSDM.
The workshop was conducted by the Indian Army under the leadership of Captain Atul and Captain Snehal from the Army Medical Corps.

The main topics covered focused on Acute Mountain Sickness, High altitude sickness, Hypothermia, adult CPR, outdoor improvised splinting, usage of a HAPO bag, and usage of an oxygen cylinder.
After the lecture/demonstration session, the students were provided hands-on practice of CPR, usage of HAPO bag, oxygen cylinder, splinting and question and answer sessions.
The students and the college staff participated in the crucial workshop enthusiastically and learned crucial first-aid methods.
