VoL Desk, April 11: The All Kargil Ladakh Students’ Association Delhi (AKSAD) has elected new Executive Body for the year 2024-25 in its Annual Election for Executive Body held at Ahlulbait Public School, Shaheen Bagh, New Delhi on Thursday.

The Election Board of AKSAD had released the election notice for filing nominations on 05-04-2024 with 07-04-2024 as the last date of nomination. A total of 10 nominations were received which after the withdrawals process reduced to seven.

The candidates for President, Media Coordinator and Finance Secretary, were declared winner uncontested. The election was held for the post of Vice President and General Secretary.

The advisory/election Board along with the some inducted election authorities functioned as Election Committee to supervise and conduct the whole election process. Around 203 members had casted their votes through ballot papers.

Hakeema Banoo with 148 votes declared winner against Asiya Banoo who secured 55 votes. Whereas for the Post of Vice President Moyeem Tahir Khan with 107 votes won against Mehboob Hassan who secured 94 votes.

The new Executive Body consist of Irfan Haider as President, Moyeem Tahir Khan as Vice President, Hakeema Banoo as General Secretary, Mohammad Ibrahim as Media Coordinator, and Shabbir Hussain Alikoo as Finance Secretary.

The result of the election was followed by the oath declaration process in which the elected candidates took oath to be sincere towards the welfare of students.
