Secy. Power, visits Aryan valley, takes assessment of Hydro Project at Hanu, Dha
Kargil, March 16: Secretary, Power and New & Renewable Energy Department, UT Ladakh, Vikram Singh Malik as part of his tour to Kargil district via Dha-Hanu in Aryan valley, visited Power Project at Hanu and Dha and took stock of the status of the projects.
He was accompanied by Chief Engineer, PDD, Chief Project Engineer, PDC, Superintending Engineer, PDD, Executive Engineer, CD-I Khaltsi, Executive Engineer, EPD Leh and all AEE/JEs of the concerned division at the site inspections.
Team Leader of the WAPCOS (Project Management Consultant) at the sites briefed the Secretary Power and NRE about the status of Hanu Power House and Dha Power House. He said that the Project at Dha (9 megawatts) is 95 percent complete and is ready for power generation.

He also added that the Project at Hanu (9 megawatts) is 93 percent complete and major required tests have been done. 66kv D/C transmission lines of 60 Kms are done with erection of more than 210 transmission towers and around 60 transmission towers are yet to be completed.
The Secretary Power and NRE instructed representative of the P&R Infra Projects Ltd. to increase manpower for the early completion of the remaining works.
He directed that work at all the sites should be started from the start of working season. Vikram Singh Malik stressed on the early completion of the erection of the remaining transmission towers which connect to Khaltsi Sub Station.
At Dha, a group of ex-servicemen met with the Secretary and requested compensation for land and reservation of jobs at the projects for locals from the adjoining region. The Secretary assured them of assistance and instructed representatives of P&R Infra Projects Ltd. to prioritize locals for job opportunities at the sites.
