VoL Desk, March 19: On the 14th day of hunger strike, Sonam Wangchuk was joined by Dr. Munish Tawang, President of the National Federation for New States (NFNS), and express his support and solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk, he said that the demands of people of Ladakh is their democratic demand.

While taking to the media, Tawang disclosed that upon his arrival in Leh, he convened a meeting with members of the Leh Apex Body, affirming unwavering support for their cause.

He underscored the inclusive nature of the hunger strike, noting the participation of individuals from diverse religious backgrounds, including Muslims and Buddhists.

Tawang reiterated NFNS’s backing for Ladakh’s aspirations, emphasizing the need to preserve its distinct identity, land, and ecology. He emphasized the importance of self-representation through legislative means, highlighting the significance of the 6th Schedule in providing protections for tribal communities.

Tawang announced that in coming week the members of the NFNS will join the Hunger strike.

Sonam wangchuk is on Hunger Strike from March 6, 2024, demanding Statehood and Six Schedule for Ladakh. In these periods he was joined by the members of the Apex Body Leh and Kargil Democratic Alliance.
