Kargil, March 04: The Lieutenant Governor, Brigadier (Dr.) BD Mishra presided over a meeting with Departmental Secretaries and Heads of Departments (HODs) to assess the progress of developmental projects in the Union Territory (UT).

During the meeting, the LG directed departments to present plans for schemes earmarked for the upcoming fiscal year by the first week of March to ensure timely allocation of funds. He stressed the importance of efficient fund utilization to ensure the timely completion of projects.

Furthermore, the LG mandated a daily review of expenses incurred by the Public Works Department (PWD) until the fiscal year 2023-24 and urged the completion of recruitment rules for gazetted posts.

Various other pertinent issues were addressed, including the promotion of Ladakhi products, adherence to building construction norms, and the successful implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Additionally, discussions encompassed topics such as the enforcement of helmet mandates for two-wheelers, the provision of specific question papers for DSSRB recruitment, the appointment of a Director for Sheep Husbandry, and updates on the progress of educational institutions and medical facilities in Ladakh.
