Kargil, March 12: Chairman /Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon held a meeting to discuss land allotment to IRP 25th BN at Sharjha Akchamal.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner/ CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse, SSP Kargil, Shree Ram R, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Councilor Poyen, residents of Mohallah Sharjha Akchmal were present during the meeting.

ACR Kargil informed the CEC that approximately 25 kanals of land were allotted to the department in 2020. Furthermore, he noted that the fencing of the land has already been completed.

The SSP Kargil informed the CEC that DPR for the construction of the police school building has already been submitted to the higher authorities of UT Ladakh. Meanwhile, locals informed the CEC that the available land is designated solely for the graveyard.

CEC Kargil urged the locals to deliberate on two proposals within the community: either designate a minimum portion of land within the existing 25 kanals for the graveyard or identify an alternative location for the construction of the police public school.

The locals agreed to consider the proposal and assured CEC Kargil of organizing a proper community meeting. In response, CEC Kargil stated that a meeting would be convened the following week to discuss the outcome of the deliberations.
