CEC convenes review meeting, assess physical, financial progress of departments
Kargil, Mar 01: Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon chaired a review meeting of various departments to assess the physical and financial progress being achieved by the departments.
The meeting was attended by the Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B), Divisional Forest Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, District Youth Services and Sports Officer and Project Director KREDA bedside other concerned officers.
During the meeting, SE PWD informed the CEC that significant progress has been made in various areas: approximately 98.33% progress in road infrastructure, 99.52% in bridge construction, and 98.00% in building infrastructure. He also informed that the remaining expenditure will be booked at the earliest.

CMO Kargil briefed the CEC that the infrastructure development in the health department has reached a commendable milestone, with total progress of 80% achieved to date.
DFO Kargil reported that significant progress has been made in the CAPEX budget, with approximately 82% completion achieved thus far. Furthermore, he anticipates reaching 88% progress by the conclusion of the last working season of this financial year.
He also informed the CEC that the focus of next year’s plan will be on afforestation. Already, approximately 65 locations have been identified for the plantation of 500,000 plants.
Project Director KREDA informed the CEC that the department has achieved nearly 100% progress across various projects.
The Project Director KREDA was directed to relocate the current location of the approach road to Sangrah project. Additionally, he was instructed to reinforce the existing projects of KREDA, given the department’s effective functioning within the district.
The Project Director appealed to CEC Dr Jaffer to allocate additional funds in the next financial year specifically for the maintenance of projects under KREDA.
Likewise, DYSSO Kargil apprised the CEC that approximately 85% progress has been accomplished in infrastructure and building construction. He assured that arrangements are underway to allocate the remaining expenditure promptly.
CEC Dr Jaffer stressed DYSSO Kargil to promote such sports which have potential for the sports persons to represent at various national and international platforms. He said sports like ice hockey, taekwondo and modern archery have good scope for the players.
The concerned officers from ITI, polytechnic and labour department also presented their progress in front of CEC Kargil.
The CEC expressed appreciation for the officers’ diligent execution of works within the designated timelines. He emphasized the importance of expediting expenditure bookings to maximize project progress.
He further directed the officers to adequately prepare for the upcoming general council meeting, ensuring they are ready to address any queries or concerns raised during the session. Additionally, he instructed them to thoroughly review the plans submitted by various Councilors for the next working season and prioritize public works accordingly.
