ALSWAJ Calls for Protest in Jammu demanding Statehood, Sixth Schedule

VoL Desk, March 22: After distancing themselves from the protests for four-point agenda in Ladakh, the All Ladakh Students’ Welfare Association, Jammu (ALSWAJ) has now announced a protest in Jammu on March 24, advocating for Ladakh’s statehood and inclusion in the Sixth Schedule.

The announcement, led by General Secretary Mushtaq Ali and other Executive Members, notably occurred without the presence of the organization’s President at the press conference.

ALSWAJ has called upon all Ladakh residents in Jammu to participate in the protest, aiming to push for Ladakh’s inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution and its attainment of statehood.

” We extend our full support to the Kargil Democratic Alliance, Apex Body, and Sir Sonam Wanchuk in this noble cause. We urge all student unions, students, and Ladakhis residing in Jammu to join us in making this protest successful,” the organization stated on its official Instagram page.

This development comes after the organization’s President previously refrained from commenting on or supporting the protests led by the Leh Apex Body and Kargil Democratic Alliance, as reported in earlier media interactions.
