All stakeholders overwhelming participation in Kargil’s hunger strike
VoL Desk, March 24: Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) launched a three-day hunger strike today at Hussaini Park in District Kargil, drawing widespread participation from political, religious, and civil society groups.
Led by the Kargil Democratic Alliance, the hunger strike aims to push for several key demands including Statehood for Ladakh, inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution, separate Lok Sabha seats for Leh and Kargil, and the establishment of a Public Service Commission for Ladakh.
The strike started early at 10 am in the morning that saw participation of both Co-Chairman of KDA, Asgar Ali Karbalai and Qamar Ali Akhoon, IKMT’s 80 years old Chairman, Guardian Council Sheikh Mohammad Mohaqiq, CEC, LAHDC, Kargil Dr Jaffar Akhone, Executive Councillors, Councillors, former CEC Feroz Ahmad Khan, Representative Anjuman Jamiat Ulema Isan Ashriya Kargil, Sajjad Hussain Kargili, Anjuman Noorbakshia Sheikh Ansar Mehdi, President National Conference Haji Hanifa Jan, President Indian National Congress Nasir Hussain Munshi among many others.
