Kargil, Feb 13: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Kargil in collaboration with 17000 ft. Foundation organized the concluding session of the two-day teacher training on Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN) at DIET, Kargil.

Joint Director, Information/Additional Secretary, Higher Education, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho attended the concluding session as chief guest. The Incharge Principal DIET, Ishey Stanzin, Resource Persons, staff of DIET, Kargil, functionaries of 17000 ft Foundation, Ahvaan and trainee teachers were present during the event.

On the occasion, the Joint Director, Information/Additional Secretary Higher Education, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho congratulated DIET Kargil, 17000 ft. Foundation and Ahvaan for organizing such an impressive collaborative training programme for teachers.

He hailed the efforts of DIET Kargil in imparting a variety of training sessions for upgrading skills and capacities of teachers in the District which are beneficial the the teachers as well as students.

Kacho said over the past few years, Kargil has witnessed tremendous change in the education system, especially in Government schools which is a positive sign. The crucial aspect of teacher training has also undergone a sea change, he added. He emphasized on building a strong foundation at the primary level for improved higher education outcomes.

Kacho also stressed on the need for innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement. While advising to do away with the obsolete methods of imparting education, he encouraged the participants to adopt practical techniques during classroom activity for effectively grooming students.

While appreciating teachers for rendering their noble services for the development of society, he said education is the only way forward for the upliftment of any society.

The chief guest was also briefed about the two-day activities of the programme which included the domain of development, Progression of Activities and Learning Outcomes in FLN classrooms from pre-primary to primary, Learning Corners, Experiencing Active Learning Methodology, Importance of TLMs etc.

During the concluding ceremony, the participating teachers and resource persons shared their experiences regarding the two-day training programme and exudes confidence about using the newly learnt techniques in their respective schools.

In charge Principal DIET, Ishay Stanzin presented the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, Ahvaan and 17000ft. Foundation and teachers for their active participation. Later, the dignitaries felicitated the participants with certificates.
