LG Ladakh Chairs Meeting to Accelerate Developmental Projects
Kargil, Jan 04: The Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra recently presided over a comprehensive departmental review meeting at the Lt. Governor’s Secretariat, overseeing the progress of various developmental projects in Ladakh. Stressing the importance of timely completion of public welfare projects, the LG urged government officials to prioritize efficiency in their endeavors.
During the meeting, the LG emphasized the need for immediate assistance to disaster victims, advocating for fire-truck placement at police stations in Ladakh. Additionally, assessments regarding the MRI machine at Kargil district hospital, expediting the establishment of Medical & Engineering Colleges, addressing cases related to SRO 43, realigning the power transmission line at Penzila, ensuring the detachment of education department staff, resolving the Kargil airfield issue, and preparing for Municipal elections were discussed.
Recognizing concerns over delayed salaries for contractual/outsourced staff, the LG directed departments to ensure prompt and consistent salary dispersals. Furthermore, the LG highlighted the imperative of providing employment opportunities to local youths in the forthcoming 13k MW Solar power project in Ladakh.
