Comm. Secy., Padma Angmo Emphasis Innovation, Skill Course & Soft Skill for Students
Kargil, Jan 11: Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education Department, UT Ladakh, Padma Angmo attended the concluding session of a workshop on assessments of the implementation of NEP 2020 in UG/PG Programmes in Kargil.
The program was conducted in both online and offline mode by the University of Ladakh in collaboration with the Higher Education Department, Ladakh at Hotel The Kargil.
A presentation on the outcome of the one-day workshop was given by Director Colleges, Tashi Dawa to the Commissioner Secretary for her appraisal. During the interactive session of the workshop, discussions were held on the challenges on the implementation of NEP 2020 UG/PG programme in Ladakh, fostering valuable deliberations for effective educational strategies in the region. College Faculty flagged various issues and challenges faced in the implementation of NEP 2020 in Ladakh.Participants proposed diverse suggestions and ideas to enhance the education sector in Ladakh, fostering discussion.

Padma Angmo interacted with the participants and shared her valuable insights and suggestions. The Commissioner Secretary directed the concerned heads of the colleges for swift registration of 1st year students for Academic Bank of Credits (ABC).
Commission Secretary stressed on innovation, skill courses, and soft skills for students. The Commission Secretary urged the faculty to intensify efforts for educational improvement, emphasizing their pivotal role in enhancing the region’s education.
Earlier, the workshop commenced with a welcome address and introduction to the workshop by the Controller of Examination, University of Ladakh, Prof. Deskyong Namgyal. It was followed by the address of Vice Chancellor, UoL, Prof. SK Mehta. The Rector, Kargil Campus, UoL, Kaneez Fatima also graced the event with her presence.
A series of presentations were given by the representatives of colleges of Kargil district. It was followed by βQuestion Hour and Discussionβ session, where productive feedbacks were given by all the participants in both virtual and offline mode. They also submitted ideas for streamlining the implementation of NEP 2020, in a more productive manner in coming sessions. The event culminated with a vote of thanks presented by Director Colleges, Tashi Dawa.
