CEC Visits Suru Valley to Assess Pace of Developmental Works

Kargil, Jan 17: Chairman/Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon toured Suru Valley Subdivision to assess pace of various development works.

During the tour, the CEC inaugurated the newly re-developed building of J&K Bank at Taisuru and Saliskote besides visited CHC Sankoo and Government High School Sangrah.

CEC Dr Jaffer congratulated the public of Taisuru and Saliskote areas for getting benefited with such facilities, which will help improve their socio-economic conditions. He added that customers should be provided better services and facilities.

CEC Dr. Jaffer affirmed the LAHDC’s dedication to Kargil’s development, citing swift action on crucial matters with the UT Administration. This includes securing funds for annual wages, pensions, and education aid for the labor community.

Additionally, efforts were made for equal opportunities in police recruitment for Kargil aspirants, reduced fares for students and patients at Kargil House in Srinagar and Jammu, and a commitment to lower e-bus fares as per public demand.

The CEC announced the revival of Parkachik Kul with a sanctioned budget of Rs 3 crore. This allocation aims to make the project operational, and a potential 5 MW electricity project is under consideration. Additionally, a Rs 54 crore DPR for the Suru Valley Grid Station has been submitted for approval.

In response to the request for a submersible pump at J&K Bank Taisuru, CEC Dr Jaffer assured to allocate funds under untied. About concerns of Office Complex in Taisuru and toilet facilities at Tehsil Headquarter, he assured that appropriate measures will be taken.

He also directed the J&K Bank authorities to explore ways and measures for installation of ATMs at Saliskote and Taisuru.

Earlier, the CEC visited CHC Sankoo and congratulated BMO and his team for getting State Certification under National Quality Assurance Standards (NQSA) by NHM for year 2023-24. He advised them to continue their good work in providing healthcare to people.

CEC Dr Jaffer also visited medicine and surgery ward of the CHC and interacted with the patients. He also gave patient hearing related to various issues of the hospital.

During the tour, the CEC visited Govt. High School Sangrah, where he interacted with students and took assessment of the facilities provided for the functioning of winter residential classes. The CEC advised students to take maximum benefits of the facilities provided by the UT Administration and excel in their upcoming exam under CBSE.

Councilor Parkachik, Syed Ainul Huda, Councilor Saliskote, Sajjad Hussain, former EC Syed Abbas Razvi, Zonal Head J&K Bank, Dorje Angchuk, Cluster Head, Ishfaq Ahmed Haqaq, besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC during the tour.
