Kargil, Dec 15: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr Mohd Jaffer Akhoon today attended the Fit India Week function at SAI Centre Kargil as the chief guest.

Over the past one week, the program was held in different schools. Degree College Kargil organized different programs like sports events, debate competitions, essay and drawing competition.

Dr Zohra Banoo, Consultant Gynaecologist, Mohd Yousuf, Activities Officer DYSSO Kargil, Anayat Ali Shotopa, General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association, Mohammad Shrief Principal Sawab Public School Baroo, in charge SAI Kargil, Ghulam Mustafa, Taekwondo Coach Mohd Ali and students of SAI Centre and students from different schools.

On the occasion, CEC Dr Jaffer said it is important to look after fitness and the Fit India Movement is an encouragement for Indians to look for a healthy and sound India in future.

He said sports have a good future and in the present era students can choose sports as a career option and can take benefit of various schemes of the government. The CEC urged youth and students to make the Fit India campaign successful.

He appreciated the efforts of SAI Centre Kargil for organizing the event successfully and hoped that such programs will be organized in the future.

Dr Jaffer congratulated the winners and urged participants to be consistent and continue to participate in such activities. He also emphasized the significance of teamwork and nurturing sportsman spirit. Later, the chief guest presented prizes and mementoes to the players and guests.
