Kargil, Dec 01: The District Administration Kargil today conducted an anti-encroachment drive, headed by the team including Deputy SP Headquarter Kargil, Tehsildar Kargil, EO MC Kargil and SHO Kargil along with other staff of MC and Revenue.

The drive was conducted in Bazar, Bus Stand Area, Adul Gond Side, Titi Chumik, Baroo-Sog, Petrol Pump and TV Station.

During the drive, warnings were given to occupants to remove the illegal encroachments otherwise, the encroachments shall be removed, and erring shall be booked under Law.

Various Offenders were also booked under Section 36 of the Police Act for causing obstruction in the movement of the public and openly exposing goods for sale.

During the drive, the team asked the shopkeepers and people to remove the debris from the roadside and also remove illegal Varanda extension by the shopkeepers. It was informed that the anti-encroachment drive will continue until the identified encroachments are not removed, and people have been given warning to desist from encroaching the public space, roads and footpaths.
