Kargil, Nov 13: Social and Tribal Welfare Department organized a workshop on sexual harassment of women at workplaces for employees of DC Office at Conference Hall Baroo.

Secretary KSSRB Khanzada Mohd Usman, Headquarter Assistant, Arifa Iqbal Lone, Accounts Officer to DC Kargil, Shamim Ahmed, representatives of Social and Tribal Welfare Department Dechen Angmo and Tashi Lamo, besides other concerned officers and officials of DC office were present on the occasion.

Dechen Angmo and Tashi Lamo gave a detailed presentation on the Sexual Harassment at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The workshop broadly highlighted the types of sexual harassment, the responsibilities of employers and employees in ensuring a harassment-free environment.

They discussed various aspects of law, including the definition of sexual harassment and the procedures for filing complaints along with the discussions of case studies for better understanding regarding how to identify, prevent and effectively address instances of sexual harassment at workplaces. The workshop ended with question-answer session.
