LG Chairs Wildlife Board Meet: Clears Path for 4G Expansion and Vital Projects in Ladakh
VoL Desk, Nov. 24: The esteemed Lt Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra spearheaded the 9th State Board of Wildlife meeting in UT Ladakh at the LG Secretariat, focusing on pivotal discussions regarding wildlife clearance for 25 projects.
Among these projects were clearances for 20 BSNL/Jio 4G mobile towers aimed at providing comprehensive connectivity to remote areas in Ladakh under the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF).
Additionally, deliberations centered around four road projects crucial for security purposes and another pivotal project involving the national large solar telescope, situated on the banks of Pangong Lake within the Changthang Cold Desert Wildlife Sanctuary.

Emphasizing the paramount importance of attaining full telecommunication coverage in the remote expanses of Ladakh, the HLG underscored its pivotal role in facilitating convenience and accessibility for the people of Ladakh, as well as for the defense personnel stationed in the region.
